Cloverfield DVD

Never did manage to see this one in the movies so I picked up the DVD yesterday. Not being a big fan of the hand held camera technique I was prepared for the worst. Well I have to say, I loved this movie. Much to my surprise the whole hand held thing works and it works spectacularly well. Doesn't mean I want to see a slew of movies in this style but in this case it was well nigh perfect. I'll stick my neck out and go so far as to call this a work of brilliant filmmaking. The realism is phenomenal. Not a great deal of extras on the DVD but the ones included are worth watching and really help you appreciate how much work went into this one. Get it.

"Cloverfield" absolutely rocks! To me, it makes for a good triple feature with "The Mist" and "I Am Legend" for cool movies from 2007!

I picked up the metal-boxed version of "Cloverfield" (the Suncoast special edition) off eBay. I can't wait for it to get here!

I'm going to get the Best Buy version with the extra disc.

There's also a Target version with a mix CD.

And a Canadian Best Buy version in a slip case.

Grabbed it yesterday as a blind buy and haven't had a chance to watch it yet
I've been kinda worried about not seeing it before buying cause I've heard so many mixed reviews on it but I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

whatever happened to there being just one product that everyone offered. So because someone picks it up at target they miss out on whatever is on the best buy edition.

Exclusives are nothing new when it comes to DVD's, I'm just surprised there isn't a Wal-Mart or Circuit City Exclusive too.

I saw this yesterday.
It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
It was more about the people than monsters which actually didn't bother me, because you still get to see the monsters more than I was originally lead to believe and experience the drama of the attack through first person.

When's the BD version coming out? I'd prfer to get that, but if it's two years away, I'll just get the dvd. This movie is probably going to look lousy anyway...I think that was the whole point.
