E-BAY IS NOW USELESS!!!
I was wondering if anyone else noticed...I went to put a statue on ebay and right before I listed it, on the last page it showed what the final value fee would be if it sold with the Buy It Now. Thinking there must be a mistake, I looked at the FVF list and the fees have gone up to 8.75%!!! Add that to the listing fee and the Paypal fees and you could lose around 15% of your sale!! This is ridiculous!!! I feel like E-Bay is laying off employees and looking to make up economic ground by quietly raising the fees. Am I wrong in this train of thought?? Has anyone else noticed this??

listing fees down to 35 cents, but the final value fee is a killer. works out to be about 11% without paypal. so you figure, for every $100 you sell something for, you net $85.

thats why you add all fees to the final price. state it in your listing . all fees will be added and any paypal fees if you use that form of payment

It's one of the perils of monopolies. There just isn't anywhere else to go and it sucks big and bad
We need a heavy hitter like google or microsoft to set up a competitor site that would be big enough that it could offer the exposure that ebay does and then competition would bring the fees more in line.

Not many other options. You can always try Craigslist. And as for selling here. It seems everyone here is looking for a steal so you could end up losing more than the 15% you could spend on Ebay fees.

I know some people are against this but that's why as a seller you have to add a minimal handling fee to help recoup some of these fees. I also suggest getting a Paypal debit card if you don't already have one. Everytime you use it you get money back. The card works great when paying for shipping through USPS.com not Paypal. You don't get money back if you ship through Paypal. You also get discounted shipping when you print your labels online.

You know what, people talk of Google being a big bad corporate giant too, but their stuff is, for the most part, not bad at all. I wouldn't mind if they came up with an auction site. It can integrate into everything else they have going on. Tie in to your gmail account, figure out shipping based on your locations using Google Earth, etc.
Anything. Anything else other than eBay. I have given up on them. I'd rather sell crap out of the back of a pickup truck along the interstate than deal with them or their retarded son Paypal.

It's the best alternative to keeping your collectible. If its not worth it, just don't list.
