So far I like the result. I prefer a white background than a brown/black one. Here the details pop more and are easier to appreciate.
It looks good. Where'd you get the lights from?

I was looking into this recently as well and in my opinion it depends on the look you're going for. If you have a lot of pieces and want adequate lighting, then LED strips might be the way to go. I personally like the look of spotlights because it gives more of a museum style look and highlights an individual piece more.

If you haven't already, you should check out Moducase's IG because there are a good amount of photos posted that you can see examples of each. They also have a product book posted on their site with some photos of collector setups.

It really depends on whether you want an even lighting(LED strips) for your statue display or a museum-like kind of lighting(spotlights) for your statue display.

For my moducase, I prefer even lighting.

This is an example of the museum setup lighting with the spotlights:

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Thanks for the replies and pics! My concern with the spotlights is that people who have a few of those Ikea builds that use the single spot lights have displays that look too "top heavy" ... where the top of a statue is lit too brightly while the bottom half is basically all shadowed. I'm at least hoping that the smaller spotlights with the Moducase's aren't as harsh looking because I like how they don't flood each case with so much light where you can see the back panels so easily.

(I found this pic on Google, and if it belongs to somewhere here, I mean no disrespect using it) =)

I set the spotlight so that it sits in front of the statue and is aimed at it

In my other showcase I have "tubes" as ceiling lights (don't know the English word) in front of the statue
My opinion: Is better than spotlights

But both ceiling lights do not completely illuminate the statue. I think floor light is necessary for good illumination.
I am currently using IKEA-NORRFLY

But I haven't found the right setup either and I keep playing with different light sources

I have displays with both strips and spots, and prefer strips. I like the entire space illuminated, rather than trying to hit the statue only.

Thanks Ish3183. The lights are the IKEA-NORRFLY. I think they are classy and provide a really good illumination. If I’m no mistaken I think IKEA also sells a remote to dim the light to you liking.

Thank you ljspiper. Once I have the display finalized I’ll post some pictures.

I also have many of my statues in a display case. But today this was posted in our German forum.
This is how statues should be presented. I am totally impressed

Impressive indeed. I think the uplighting looks even better than usual because of the pose.
