I've got multiple pieces in from WETA, never had issues with breakage or mistakes of any kind upon arrival. And from my experience they've matched prototypes very well.

I love the intricate work they put into their various Ringwraiths in particular - incredible detail with unique texturing I've not seen in statues from my Sideshow, Prime 1, XM, Iron Studios pieces.

All in all, I've not had a bad experience yet, and look forward to what they have planned going forward.

This will likely be the most accurate Sauron depiction yet in statue form.

This is a cool looking piece, but it's impossible for me to justify spending $1,000 for a 1/6 scale at 26" tall, when P1 has their 1/4 scale at 43" tall for only $300 more.

Weta replied in a fb post with a closer look at the paint.

Apparently 1451 will be made - more than I expected actually. Glad to see interest in LOTR continues to be solid, because personally I’m looking forward to more down the road.

Surprised a bit that they didn’t round it up to a more even number though - taking that ‘edition size set by you’ thing pretty seriously…

I thought 1500 was a very real possibility. Looking at the 9500 ES of the original Weta Sauron, the fact that they haven’t made a normal full-figure Sauron for nearly twenty years, and their current output/development of 1/6 LOTR, I could see this as one of the more must have pieces. I actually put in an order around midnight PDT Aug 5th. Wasn’t sure when they would close this out exactly. Glad I didn’t wait for this afternoon.
