Sideshow extra charge for double boxing
Sideshow has a new charge for what they call "Double box my item" when you check out. The description says they will place the item in another brown shipper for extra protection.
Now does this mean they are now charging for something they had before at no charge?
Or this charge was hidden in the shipping fees but we didn't know about it?
Or offering an option for some customers to get a cheaper shipping option?
This does not seem to apply to all items but does show up if you try and order The Child Sideshow statue as an example.
Check it out.

Pretty sure it means that the normal labeled brown shipper everyone gets with a Sideshow statue can now be placed inside another larger cardboard box. Probably for those anal people who demand their shippers arrive in perfect condition.

I assume it means items such as Hot Toys which Sideshow ship in the brown shipper box will be inserted into a brown box to protect the Hot Toys (brown) shipper box for collectors that like 10/10 brown shipper boxes.

I can understand this for people who worry about treatment of packages. Most of mine arrive fine, but every so often looks like drug behind the truck.

They’ve had it for years for $10 for hot toys size boxes but you had to contact customer service to do. Don’t think they’ll be dong this for pfs and larger size boxes.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

People want their brown shipping boxes in pristine condition as well? But hey if it can make Sideshow more money.

And fools pay it. I don't give a rats ass what my brown shipper looks like as long as the art box and statue are intact.
Smart move on Sideshow to see a niche and address it. This will also help on customer complaints about boxing because they can say "we gave the you the option, you didn't take it."

I think it's mostly figure collectors, like HT. AFAIK statue people are perfectly fine with their ripped, torn, practically disintegrating shippers LOL.
