Up at Sideshow. Not sure if likeness is 100% from memory, but it's very close, and I like the composition overall. A bit pricey for 1/6 but how often do we get a licensed piece of Mifune. Also not sure if he fits my collection, but who cares, he looks awesome. I'll keep him in my sights.

The likeness is really good, for the size, but also considering the style. It's a very simple sculpt (and paint) job. Even at this scale though, it could have been much more detailed.
I think I'm passing mostly because of scale, but also for their art direction. I'd rather have one of him from a specific favorite scene. This appears to be an amalgamation.

Yes, I was wondering what film he was based on, and couldn't point a finger on it. I too would've liked a more specific take.

My favorite film of his is 'Sanjuro', so that's what I would have liked.
The mon on his kimono looks to be from 'Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo' and/or 'Machibuse'. However, obviously they've chosen a black and white paint app to evoke the feel of earlier films...but 'Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo' and 'Machibuse' are in color.
The presser put out by Infinite also indicates that they were inspired from several sources.

I love the piece, but I hate the price. After shipping he will probably be over four hundred dollars, despite being a relatively simple 1/6 statue. I understand rights are going to play into this, but I can't help but feel this is an easy one hundred dollars more than it should be.

Was planning on focusing on Marvel/DC...even sold a custom Lone Wolf and Cub statue, but I might make an exception for this one.
