Marvel Epic Collection thread
The Marvel Epic Collection is a great way to collect some of your favorite runs. They generally contain about half the number of comics that an average omnibus has and can be bought for a relatively cheap price. Feel free to list yours here and discuss future and past releases.

Aren't these the same type of book as the Marvel Essentials or the DC Showcase Presents were back in the day? I have about 60 of those. Some real gems on the 2nd hand market.

the difference between Essentials and Epic Collections is Essentials are in black&white and Epic Collections on the other hand are in color.

Exactly. The Epic Collection format is a great way for people to build a solid library without paying omnibus prices. I supplement my omni runs with the ECs. Great quality and look great on the shelf.

Just ordered these:
I thought I was finished with Excalibur but I went ahead and ordered these two. I don't really want all the content but some of it is good.

Same. The Iron Fist Masterworks and with vol 2, the Luke Cage Masterworks end with vol 3 and the first Power-Man and Iron Fist Epic Collection pics up from there.

For the longest time Marvel produced the Epic Collection format for Golden Age through Silver Age comics. Now they are starting the Modern Age. The Bendis/Maleev volume 1 will be out in March. The omni version will be out late in the year as well. Don't know which versions I will be getting. I'm leaning toward the EC since Daredevil isn't one of my top tier characters. Love the art though. The Brubaker Captian America will be coming in June.

The Bendis/Maleev epic collection is out today. I think I'll wait and get the omnibus though. It has more material and I could use a little more DD on my omni shelf.
