But there's a BIG difference between designing a costume and creating a charactor. Alot of creators like Bob Kane, who created Batman from start to finish, Jack Kirby who created more charactors than I can remember still get creation credits, which is why thier names are still featured in any book with the charactors in it ... and right or wrong, that's the legal definition of "create" .. or at least that's the precident for now.
Bob Kane was smart he had it in his contract that anything with Batman in it would say created by Bob Kane.

Furie, Carmine Infantino is one of the great silver age artist. In fact if you read "The Silver Age of Comic Book Art"...

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...608856-9179104

...you'll see he's right up there with Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Jim Steranko, Neal Adams, Gene Colan and Gil Kane. He's credited with bringing the Flash to life and making him a hit. He became the president of DC for a while and co-authored an intro to Marvel/DC's first cross over, Superman vs. Spider-Man, with Stan Lee.

Carmine Infantino is a bona fide Silver Age comic book legend.

met him a few ears back in Philly. he was a great artist, HOWEVA(thank u steven a.) he's a very bitter old man. he's always blaming the people around him at the time. his latest attempt at suing DC is an example. he feels that murphy anderson, his inker during his DC time, is a thief. his reasoning, he sold most of infantino's artwork. the artwork he had been given, cuz carmine didn't plan on keeping it, very few artists kept their artwork then. anderson was ahead of the curve, and kept what he could.
