Many of the astronauts left personal mementos or objects to honor astronauts killed.

Here is one of my favorite pictures, a family photo on the moon....

Of course it is long since destroyed up there in the great heat and cold I am sure.

They left everything they didnt have to bring back.

Many of the abandoned ascent stages impacted the moon later as well. So there are some pretty historical wrecks on the moon.

There is even some old Apollo hardware in solar orbit out there.

And the footprints should still be there too!

Now when they go back up I would love to see pics of that. To this day there are people who believe the landing never happened, pictures like this would prove them wrong.

Those kind of people are not interested in facts.

I swear you could take them there and show them in person and it would not be enough. LOL

Someday, there will be I am sure a historical preserve around the Apollo 11 landing site. Where visitors can safely view without disturbing anything where mankind first stepped foot on another world.
None of us will live to see that. But I know it will happen someday.

And the few nuts that actually entertain (or profit) from such things will be long forgotten as they truly deserve to be.

Since it was built later than its older sisters, the Endeavor was built with new equipment designed to improve and expand the capabilities of the orbiter. Much of this equipment was later incorporated into the other three orbital vehicles during major verification and modification programs that were decommissioned.
