This was my thoughts. I love omnis but not enough to double dip like that for the shelf display. I don't have enough money for that either

I did have my eye on that one but wasn't sure what was included. I think I will take a closer look now that you mentioned Death of Captain Marvell. I understand that is a defining moment in Marvel comics!

It looks like there is a lot of overlap, but I think a handful of issues from the Masterworks weren't included. It looks like they will be included in Vol 2 out in August(supposedly).

MONSTERS VOL 2:COLLECTING: MATERIAL FROM STRANGE TALES (1951) 87-100; STRANGE TALES ANNUAL (1962) 1; JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY (1952) 71-82; TALES TO ASTONISH (1959) 20-34; TALES OF SUSPENSE (1959) 20-38; AMAZING ADVENTURES (1961) 1-6; CHAMBER OF DARKNESS (1969) 4-5

After realizing I got 37 omnibus unread and some date back to 2012,And I got on my to buy list another 20+.I think I will get out of the omnibus phase and just go digital from here on.That is a lot of money spent that I didn't even read yet and don't know when to read.Work and 2 young kids just don't have the time to carry these massive books around and read them.

I don't blame you. Digital is my way to go now. I only buy omnibuses of beloved runs. The rest is digital only.

I can totally appreciate that. I was actually reading comics digitally before I got into omnibuses but just my personal preference, I love buying and holding the book in my hand. I feel like it's a whole different kind of experience and I really appreciate the hardcover book. But I'm old school at heart. I also prefer buying copies of my music and movies too.

I get that. The reason I'm getting the Omnibus is 1) to get titles I never read in comic form and 2) get titles I have read so I can sell the comics.

That is my experience too. Love holding actual books. That is why I still chase to find old pupl novels from 20+ years ago. But When I'm dropping 100+$ on a omnibus and I'm a completist so I try to get all of them. Plus on top of statues. I made the descision to stop. The backlog and the new releases and future releases . I had to give up on something. I have even cut down on statues and prints.

I have 10 omnibuses waiting to be read. It's so many cause i don't want to degrade my omnibuses as a collector so i have hard time opening the shrink wraps... so i delay to read them... All of them stay in their shrink wraps on the shelf. I really like omnibuses, if they are really thick, chunky monkies. So many comics to read in one trade is so appealing to me , it may take 1 month or even a little bit more to finish one of them, such a long, satisfying read, worth the money and i really like OHCs so i will definetly get alot more of omnibuses in the future.
