Can anyone recommend some Judge Dredd TPBs? Always enjoyed the character despite reading next to nothing about him

Origins is a good one, it tells the origins of Judges and Mega-City One.

Seconded on that. It's a great story.

Batman/Judge Dredd - Judgement on Gotham. Just read the first crossover (prestige format, one-shot), the rest are throwaways.
The Judge Death Saga - a must-read.
Block Mania/Apocalypse War
Emerald Isle
The Judge Child
The Cursed Earth Saga - this is a good one, despite the fact that several chapters of it can't be reprinted due to lawsuits from McDonald's, Burger King, and others (I've always wondered why the creators didn't simply revise the story and artwork).

I enjoy the Judge Anderson stories. They break away from the typical Mega City One action.

Casebook Files reprints a lot of good Dredd stories, including my favorite, The Pit, you might also check them out.

Captain Britain, Birth of a Legend is surprisingly good if you enjoy 1970's Marvel Comics. These are the stories originally published in the UK so they were new to me.

A hdbk, but I'm putting it up here anyway, I just finished Jack Cole's Deadly Horror collection & it was excellent! Plastic Man creator & later Playboy artist icon, I didn't know too much about Cole's 50's horror work. He worked mostly for Quality Comics & their Web Of Evil book, I feel he gave the stuff happening over at EC a run for their money. Grave rats eating grave robbers, split & blistered electric chair zombies, skeletal ghosts, etc ... Cole did not shy away from intense (& beautiful) graphic depictions of early comic horror. Pretty sure this guy was a huge part of the reason for the resulting comics code. Love this one!

I stand corrected, it appears The Pit TPB was published separately, and the right name of the books is The Complete Case Files.
