UPS automatically insures its shipments for up to $100 value included in the price of the shipping (at no extra fee)...so for this piece you should be covered and shouldn't have to pay extra.

bruin's absolutely right... UPS does include $100 insurance coverage in their costs.

I could have sworn you were the same as the seller as you gave verbatim advice as his ebay statement to me.

ebay seller: "UPS automatically puts insurance on their shipments up to $100.00 so you wont need to pay me any more to get insurance on it. It will be on there as a default anyway."

not a problem. I figure even if it arrives in shattered remains I'll just do a bit more footwork to get my money back - I wouldn't have cancelled to hurt my reputation on e-bay since I stepped into this on my own two feet. I've turned over one seller to the FBI for a fraud deal that took a year to handle, so this is not a big deal. My major intent was to just raise awareness as many members do regarding certain activities on ebay. It also helps me on my own stupidity - better than driving your head into a wall

eBay really does suck sometimes. I just sold a Terminator 1:1 bust yesterday for $600. I go to "My eBay" today and find out the a**hole who bought it is no longer a registered user. Why does eBay even let people do that with outstanding purchases? There should be a process you go through before they allow you to unregister your user ID!

Most likely they were suspended or kicked off by ebay...
