HBO showed off the first few minutes of the movie yesterday...

This looks like it’s going to be good. I was definitely happy with what I saw. Granted it’s only 5 minutes , but it didn’t have that cheesy effect the original movies had.

3/10 - Thank **** that Kano was there to save this trainwreck. Other than some decent effects which were the only improvement from the original, this movie is a glorified cosplay contest. Many loved characters disrespected.
I had to rewatch the original to remind myself of the respect that should have been given to these characters, and just to wash the taste out of my mouth from the new one.
For casuals, it may score higher for some filler entertainment, but for a long time MK fan, this dissapointed on so many levels, many personal to me.

im a long time MK fan as well, so I think I will probably share your criticisms of how the characters are represented, I already had several concerns just based on the trailer
