Love the Ultimate Cap costume. My favorite version of the character. Wish he had a chin strap but that's ok.

Wait "comic based Cap"? This is based on the Ultimate version of the character right? Do you guys mean a classic meaning non-ultimate Captain America?

Classic = no straps, pouches. The boots and gloves are buccaneer style flaps. The helmet has raised wings. No patch on the shoulders.

I'm not a fan of the Ultimate version, and have always craved a full on classic version done well.
While The LBS 1/3 isn't fully classic, it finally hit a ratio that I was comfortable with, and the stoic, and aspirational, attitudes are exactly what I want to see in my ideal vision of Cap.

If I'm perfectly honest though, I will admit I find the flush snakeskin texture of the chest area on this Ultimate version to look quite a bit better than the more pronounced and overlapping fish scales on the LBS.
Would have preferred to see the former used on the LBS as well, but it's not enough to dampen my appreciation for the rest of it.

As far as this new piece goes- looks like a take similar to SS's Allied Attack from six or so years back. I actually love that piece too, but XM probably went even better here with the ammo cases and sacks on the base, rather than just the generic "Italian campaign" style rubble on the SS.
All the surface texture sculpting looks kick-azz as well.

For the Ultimate fans out there, this looks like a knock out.

Hmm. He looks pretty good, but not outstanding or anything. Maybe I should just wait and see the whole thing first though. I was all on board at first but the price increases on 1/4 scalers is making me get a lot more picky.

Hope there is a switch out hand so Mjolnir is just an option.

I would say it would be very, very surprising if you had to have him holding Mjolnir at all times. Surely there will be another switch out.

The Mjolnir hand is not a selling point for me at all.
