please educate yourself and stop spreading false hope to 5 million people in america that suffer from AD, not to mention the caregivers and their families. here's a great resource with facts about the disease.

Same thing pharmaceutical companies go through to develop new drugs. 90% at least never make it to the market. Concepts have to be developed, tried on animals to see if they have any impacts before human trials can begin. They spend billions before finding the next lipitor or viagra.

I'm all for finding cures but some of these lab coats are really out there. Its just amazing that there is no cure for the common cold or Aids. Or maybe there is but there is more money to be made on drugs to threat them that drugs to actually cure. I've always been curious if pharmaceutical companies held back cures.

Give me this "false" hope over no hope any day of the week.

the alzheimer's organization i've worked for over the last 7+ years deals in facts.
until real breakthroughs have been established, keep eating fish and not using deodorant that contains aluminum if it makes you feel hopeful.

I seriously doubt that.

Why would you doubt it. There's billions to be made to just threat the problem. If they produced a cure the cash cow would be gone.

Because I believe there are a lot more moral people in the pharmaceutical field than not.

i don't believe in jumping the gun. obviously fruit flies don't have the same physiology as human beings, so why not wait until we see actual strides on humans with this treatment before we can celebrate?
there have been hundreds and hundreds of these 'discoveries' made over the last 20 years. none have resulted in cures and only a limited amount of these have given us directions to turn in better understanding the disease.
there's an old saying that holds true....don't count your chickens before they hatch.

ok how do you get real breakthroughs without throwing money at people and hope they get it right. why should these people be ignored instead of showered with cash to take there tests in a positive direction.
