ECC - Hellboy 2 - Abe Sapien Life-Size Bust

Abe Sapien Life-Size Bust

Abraham Sapien, originally named Langdon Everett Caul, is a fictional character in Mike Mignola's comic book series-Hellboy. His moniker, "Ichthyo sapien," stems from the 19th-century Oannes Club, and he also draws inspiration from Abraham Lincoln. The Oannes Club preserved him in a suspended animation tank beneath a Washington D.C. hospital on Lincoln's assassination date, leaving a cryptic note as explanation.-

In Guillermo del Toro's film adaptation of-Hellboy, actor Doug Jones portrayed Abe Sapien, displaying remarkable strength, speed, and agility, though omitting the psychic abilities and breathing apparatus. Notably, he is often referred to as an "amphibious man."

Elite Creature Collectibles has crafted a life-size bust capturing the intricacies of Abe Sapien, including his turquoise skin, amphibious features, gills and the distinctive B.P.R.D. Suit details.

I think this looks fantastic. I saw the prototype at SDCC and loved it.

I?m really concerned that the production pieces may suffer? I know the ECC Faun bust looked totally different from proto to production, but that one had hair.

Anybody have any experiences with these guys or thoughts?

They are usually hit or miss, but I think they can replicate this one. It’s a cool piece, but I didn’t think even the proto was $2k good, so I wouldn’t go for this. The maquette will probably be bad ass, but if this is $2k, I’m scared to see the price on that one.
