I've been looking for a comic forever that I read as a kid. I seem to recal it was a Brave and the Bold but I can't find it in any database. Two of the best stories I remember growing up. The lead-in was a Batman story called " The Ninth Leg of the Spider" and backing it up was a Green Arrow Story called "night Olympics". If anyone can tell me where to find this mag, I'll donate a kidney to them.

Well basically Grant Morrison got angry at DC cause they dragged out and gave away half of his reveals with 52 and Countdown so when it came to Final Crisis he decided to make an unreadable piece if drivel.
Blame WB, I wish I could say read Secret Invasion instead but after issue 3 you may as well read 90's Youngblood

The best part about DD today is it's classic 80's Miller/Janson DD.
A crazy chick on a roof top battling DD with a bunch of ninjas... seriously what more do you need?

What do you all think of Howard the Duck? Anyone own the $100 Omnibus?

I didn't read Howard the Duck back in the 70's. Sure, I was exposed to him in Man-Thing and Foom and other Marvel books of the time, but I never bought into the whole little animal thing.
But recently, I've been reading how wonderfully subversive, witty, sarcastic and a downright brilliant social satire the book actually was.

With Gerber writing it and two of my fave. artists Brunner and Colan drawing it, maybe I really missed out on something special.

Should I get the omnibus? Anyone know where I can get it cheaper then the $70 amazon's selling it for?

Not one DC fan understood it themselves. It was a travesty...

If you have a little patience on eBay, you might be able to get for around or under $50. I really enjoyed it, although I had read a few of the issues before. There's all 33 issues of the actual series, plus a FOOM issue and his back-up stories from Man-Thing. It's quite a hefty book. The Colan art alone makes it worth it. The stories are wild and whacky, it's easy to see why it's difficult for any other writer to really capture the same style of storytelling.

Thanks WHD. I'll start the ebay hunt and will also check the small comic show when it comes back. I'm very curious about this series and would like to read the full run. I appreciate your comments.

Not yet but, following the upcoming (next week) battle between the New and Dark Avengers in New Avengers #50 this will be the next story line. So, stay tuned.
