Looks like smoke-demons coming out of a cauldron to me. Was this always how it looked? Why did we think this was going to be Clayface?

Agree.. The hands coming out looks a lot like that creature from Scarecrow. This could possibly be a bat creature in its undead form.

in the renders this never read as "smoke" to me but now that you mention it i can see it. still looks very solid to me, like a solid mass of goop but i guess sculpted smoke looks like that too

I thought it was mentioned in a comment, but I don't have FB anymore.
It doesn't have to be Clayface, but why would it be smoke demons either? Scarecrow doesn't even have something like that, so why would Batwoman?

For a time there she dealt with a lot more supernatural villains, stuff from historical legends. Maybe that?s the angle? I guess it still could be Clayface depending on the colouring, but everyone seemed so sure it was him. I think Batman Statue Collector really was driving it home that it was.
If I had seen this render without everyone saying it was Clayface I wouldn?t have thought for a second it was supposed to be him.

I don't have any Samurai pieces (passed on Harley a few months ago) but I might be getting this one if I like the full reveal and different portraits. The teaser looks very promising so far!
