Weta's 4th Doctor and Davros

Received this a bit before Christmas, but only now had the chance to take some good photo's.

All in all pretty happy, just needs a little more care on the paint app's in a couple of spots.

Must admit I've been curious about this one, so thanks for sharing.

So what do you think of the Tom Baker likeness overall? His face seems kinda longish. Though it's kinda hard to tell in that pic, especially with the extreme expression they chose to go with and base this piece on. Davros looks great though.

Yes, Davros is great, pretty much worth it for him alone and some would say that almost would have been better.
I'm sure one could debate the Doctor expression both ways, tho if nothing else, this sure captures the struggle between the Doctor and Davros over the course of 5 regenerations. With the point proved even more so with the recent series 4 final.

As for the sculpt, I've no doubt that any artist will tell you that getting a likeness looking correct in extreme expression is about the hardest thing to do. In this case Weta made it look pretty easy, there is no doubt at all that its Tom Baker.
If I get a chance, I'll post another pic tomorrow.

NP guys.
Here's another pic, which again you may think is a bit wrong, but try looking in a mirror with that expression and hold it for a while and see how 'wrong' your own face looks, hehe.

That's actually very nice. Do you have any more Doctor Who related pieces?

Only the Weta Dalek, which you can see here

I'll likely get the last two of the helms as well, but they are not due for release till 2009.

You can see better pics of the Dalek, along with a review and even an interview with David Tremont in my SCE mag issue 2, PDF can be downloaded here
