Superman background info plz
Just to get up to speed for when I go to see the new Superman movie... Since it's Superman "returns" I'm guessing he died in the last one? I saw the movies yeeears ago and I dont remember a thing. How does he die, if that's the case...

I've "heard" the last two movies ( with Reeve) "didn't happen".. So this is a sort of sequel to the 2nd Reeve movie. Is that right?

Ok so he just leaves planet earth for a while.
What about what Xeno says, is that true? In wich case the away from earth trip doesnt count? What happens after the very first movie, if he doesnt die or doesnt leave earth, then what you heard Xeno probably isnt true as the Superman "returns" part wont be correct.

Basically this movie occurs after Superman 2 and Superman 3 and 4 never happened (which is okay by me since they were horrible).

This movie is really set using bits and pieces from Superman 1 and to very small extent Superman 2. It is not a sequel, it uses the other two movies as "vague history"
You really don't need to watch 1 & 2 in order to understand this one, however you will enjoy it more if you do since there's a lot of homages.

actually this movie is supposed to be after superman 2 , however you dont need to see 1 or 2 to understand whats going on.
