The Color Purple (1985) - A tale spanning forty years in the life of Celie, an African-American woman living in the South who survives incredible abuse and bigotry. 7.5/10
The Color Purple (2023) - A woman faces many hardships in her life, but ultimately finds extraordinary strength and hope in the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood. 7/10
Although I liked the songs in the musical remake, I give the edge to the original, as schmaltzy as it was.

I actually didn't hate Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. I thought it was infinitely better than the Flash which was an utter CGI abomination of a film. Just unwatchable.

Clerks III 8/10
I was crying and had a smile on my face at the same time for the last 15 munites or something of the film. It was sad and funny, sad and funny... Sad scene and then a funny scene... With all the nostalgia... Kevin Smith did a good job with this film.

Daredevil (2003) Director's Cut - 8/10. Honestly, super weird Bullseye was my only real issue with the film.
Up next, Elektra

I did see The Holdovers back in December when it was still in theaters. I thought it was very good. It was obvious where the plot was headed, but still done very well--not too saccharine at all. It could be a future Christmas staple for me.

Totally agree. I did not read the books. Only saw the David Lynch film adaptation. Denis Villeneuve has created films of such visual epic scope, coupled with great drama and acting. Dune 1 and 2 are exceptional. Unfortunately, I read somewhere that Dune 3 might not be his next project.

I hear part 2 is better than part one and I already thought Part 1 was a 10/10. Can't wait to see it.
