Tyz1on's pics are awesome, and with his permission I put my spin on one. Retouched in Photoshop, I'm happy with how it turned out. enjoy!

EDIT: Tyz1on just told me that the surfer pic was P1X4R's to start, with him adding to it, so I wanted to put proper credit out there.

Sure! I set up a vanishing point, used a lasso tool and painted in streaks that went back to the point.

I made a layer on top of surfer and painted spots/highlights over him, then used the smudge tool to bring them back to the vanishing point.
