This hobby taught me that my motivation to do better must come from a place more enduring than man made things, especially fragile ones like statues. My wants are infinite but my needs are more proportionate. It would make sense to tailor my collection to be more grounded in my current circumstances, not just monetarily and space-wise, but also in terms of a property or character's personal situation aligning with mine. For example, not going to rush into a new fandom in order to justify buying a new statue or vice versa. I can warm up to that property at my own pace, and if I miss out on its corresponding statue, so be it. Most properties have themes in which I've outgrown as a person, though sometimes I revisit things with a fresh set of eyes. That said, I do enjoy seeing statues which I have no interest in owning. They may inspire my next purchase.
