Agreed. Watching the actual landing on another planet blows my mind.

arent there supposed to be some transformers in there somewhere? we kept joking about that while we watched this last night. what a great moment, so exciting! just nuts that everything went exactly according to plan. too bad Obama slashed NASAS budget and then gets credit for this program. whatever.

NASA is a waste of money. The Billions of dollars they spent on this mission they could have used for better things.

Aside from the expense, are there any other arguments against space exploration?

risk of angering alien life.

spread of unknown disease/bacteria both here and there.

uhm......

that's all i can think of.

those pictures are amazing! Glad to see we are still pushing the envelope.

I wish that the worlds scientific community would continue to explore the Earth's oceans. The ocean covers 71 percent of the Earth's surface and contains 97 percent of the planet's water, yet more than 95 percent of the underwater world remains unexplored.

I'm curious if you would watch the two videos I posted from Neil deGrasse Tyson and share your thoughts on what he had to say with us?
They are not long....

Thankfully this is a democracy and there are enough who don't agree with you. So our govt is appealing to those who don't think it's a waste by spending a mear pittance in the scheme of things on space exploration, galactic studies, and the impact of things outside our little sphere which may benefit us in the long term and appeal to our curiosity.
