Way out of my element on this thread, but noticing it spans 10 years at nearly 200 pages. Wow.
I'm just curious about this topic in general. As someone that very casually liked comics as a kid and is interested in reexploring then, is an "omnibus" a good approach? Are they kind of like big consolidated collections?
Any primer out there?
Thanks

They’re the cheapest way to read a run of about 30 to 50 comics. They look damn good on a book shelf too. Epic collections are good too. Smaller, cheaper and paperback.

Man, I missed out on Uncanny X-Men vol. 2. Had it on Amazon sitting in my "save for later" lineup at under 100 for the longest from what I remember. Now, I'm looking at well over 200. ...on to the next printing.

Thank you. I'll have to look up Epics. Was also thinking about going for one of the digital subscriptions.

Yeah just really depends on what your preference is, physical or digital.

Also not a bad idea to get omnibuses of the characters/stories you really like and then use a digital subscription for other stuff you may not be as engaged in. The digital subscription is cheaper than 1 omnibus and you're obviously getting a LOT with it. Doesn't hurt to have either way in my opinion.

What If? Omnibus 2 is already up on Amazon and volume 1 hasn't even hit the market yet.

Good news. Maybe they got a ton of pre-orders for volume 1?

What do you guys think the odds are that the X-Men #1 and #2 (the long sold out classic ones) omni are going to be re-released any time soon?

I think Uncanny Omar from Nearmintcondition mentioned that in one of his reviews. It was either that or the same material in Epic Collection format.
