It's been a bit of a bait and switch IMO more as opposed to false expectations.

There will be a like two more statue releases in the cycle. I'm sure of it. It's just it's obviously too difficult for them to do more than that since they aren't a statue specific company.

I still think by the end of the cycle a diablo and starcraft one will be made to round everything out. The idea of the vault though is good, because it doesn't limit them to making statues just to promote upcoming releases, and allows them to make statues based on their most iconic characters that will sell the most.

That being said, when you look at all their WoW statues......I don't know how in the hell we haven't got a Varian with a base on the broken shore, duel wielding swords, with a few demon bodies on the base. "It's a jump to conclusion" idea really. Not sure what the hold up is. Who wouldn't buy that!

Yeah, I dig the vault idea, but I wish they'd started off with something old so the expectation wasn't set. The art is cool I guess.

I've been hoping for Lo'Gosh/Varian for a looong time but the way the story is progressing I'm quessing Anduin is a safer bet... I wouldn't mind either way

What I don’t get is why they don’t see the $$ in more statue making. I assume it’s because they don’t see it as very profitable. But hard to see how that would be the case.

They have so many iconic IPs , characters, scenes to draw from.

Just think of even the WoW possibilities:

1. Grommash enraged, very similar to the SSC LF Wolf predator. If you want an ultimate piece… have it so Grommash is flying in the air towards mannoroth.
2. Arthas standing over Sylvanas’s dead body, with her banshee form rising from her body.
3. Arthas standing over his dead father’s body.
4. Illidan drinking from the well of eternity, already transformed into a demon.
5. Orc and human clashing in battle.
6. Any iconic boss
7. A billion other scenarios/dios
8. Last but not least… any museum pose of a plethora of well known characters
9. Characters that are fan favorites: 1. Van Cleef 2. Whitemane 3. Alextraza
10. And just to top it off: dragons of nightmare

Look how easy that was? They could be busy for years spitting out those.

Most of their statues ended up not selling for quite sometime and just sat in clearance.

I agree that they can make so many statues from Warcraft / Starcraft / Diablo universe. Overwatch ones seems to all sat in bargain bin besides Mercy.

I think the pace for blizzard statues is more or less fine. Remember it's very expensive hobby and very few people can afford to drop 1400 (LK) of euros or dollars every few months. Probably most new statues will be at at least thrall price point not the current jaina / illidan ones.

I mean Varian sounds cool but I'm not surprised they would come out with Thrall and Lich King before that. I think there are many characters that are cooler than Varian that they should come out with. They let Varian die in the lore so he doesn't mean that much to them. But I agree that there is likely a starcraft and Diablo 4 statue on the way to round it out at the least. However Starcraft has been in the back seat for many years now as the RTS has allegedly had a loss of interest.

If its another D4 statue it may be a hero/class this time such as the sorceress/barbarian/druid/rogue.

The pace has been quite a bit more frequent lately than their 1 per year before with Thrall last fall, helm of domination in February and Lich King a couple months ago.

We're still holding out hope. Plenty of months left and they typically release a statue no matter what during when they would typically have a Blizzcon.
