The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

I’m a meathead and heavy handed. I will use high end make up brushes for very dense and large cross sections of part of a statue. But delicate areas with pieces that could easily snap off I prefer air.

I don't know what's the scare with using compressed canned air. I've been collecting and cleaning my statues with this setup for over 15 years and I've never had a problem with using compressed canned air. No statues have ever turned colors, chipped, flaked paint or anything in all these years. Although I only use the canned air to get into those tight areas where the microfiber towel or make-up brush won't reach. To each his own but I'm sticking with this setup for the next 15 years and counting...

Because I've found it can leave a residue sometimes and considering the price of these collectibles I am just not risking it. It's reasonable to want to do that. The air duster I've just picked up is perfect.

I don't even use compressed air to clean my DSLR because it just pushes the dust deeper into the housing. I think it's no different with statues.
I think a small vacuum cleaner with a small brush is better.

Something like this.

But I have no experience with it. Should also try it out

There are several mini “keyboard vacuums” on Amazon and some are WET/DRY and some are both a blower/vacuum combo, however nowadays the vacuums online that are a blower/duster do not need a compressed air can - I bet Home Depot or Lowes have a few varieties in stock …

These would be good for someone who has a large collection of statues :

Here are a few links that have a lists of top 10 reviewed ones ….
