Wayne Barlowe's Thype

Some in progress shots of our new kit, Wayne Barlowe's Thype!
We are long time Barlowe fans so we are really excited about this piece . Thype is originally found in Barlowe's Guide to Extraterrestrials and is one of his original characters, so it'a real honor to interpret it into a sculpt. Big thanks to Wayne for the sweet quote! Also Chad Michael Ward for his photo and adwork.




This is the arm off, being repaired and I guess he needed a new pinky.


Here is a shot where things are still kind of rough. His sword is a living thing that wants blood, it's a symbiotic relationship. I really hope Barlowe does something with Thype story wise, that would be cool.


This shot is a little too close but it's what I could find offhand. We try and make the eyes really deep holes because the dark dark shadows bring you eyes right in.

Whoa! I hate to be so late to the game, but this looks great! I've been a big fan of Barlowe's work for a long time, and the Thype gallery in the back of WB's Guide to Extraterrestrials was great stuff.
