Why doesnt hot toys make statues?

Ive been trying to find the answer to this and I simply cant figure it out, premium formats maq/com etc. These hot toys figure seem to nail the face each and every single time, it seems like they are licensed to do anything! I sometimes feel that if they did, sideshow collectibles would probably have a big challenge.

I believe this is because the asian market in general is more akin to 12" figures rather than statues.
And since Hot Toys started out small, catering mostly to their domestic market, the just did what their market demanded and have become very, very good at it.
So i guess it's their "safe" zone knocking these 12"inchers out of the park everytime rather than take risks sculpting statues which i believe is a totally different process of sculpting plastic.

I think plastic figures are easier to make. With less work involved in the molding process. At least that's what I get from looking at what Koto has put out in statue form. Their vinyl figures come out looking great (I know the humans are meh but that's a different story) but, their statues come out looking like they were painted by a blind person.
Maybe it's just harder to find a good quality statue producing factory.
