I like it overall...tells a story and does a good job of it. I think this is one of those times that I'm okay with the creative license they took with the suit.

Wow I was not with the whole tentacle thing at all but they really did their thing with the concept and execution. Great looking statue.

Two great choices. I’m not really a fan of what they did to his costume though. I’m sticking to the PF because of the classic costume and the PF’s pose works better with my Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne line up but you can’t go wrong with either.

I don't like how flared out his ears are on the XM piece. I wish they would remove the tail sword, and if that metal rod will be there in the final production piece this is a definite pass. XM really needs to tone down their use of black wash it really detracts from the piece instead of adding to it.

His suit is overly done per usual XM. It is impressive in design but I have concerns about the engineering aspect of it. I?ll need to see a bit more myself but I?m leaning toward the SS PF.

I'm curious what XM has to say about this.
At the moment I can't see what the rod is supposed to do other than support. If so, then I'm out too.

I'm sure that the "rod" issue will be explained when the full reveal happens. I seriously doubt that XM would just stick an out of place "rod" in the back of a statue without it making some type of sense aesthetically.

It?s the prototype, means engineering is not finished for the production.

Good points made.

And indeed he needs a switchout tail for ppl who don't like the 3 swords looks.

I was hoping I would love both so that I could get both & I do. I prefer XMs over the SS piece, but I will have both. Cherry on top is that the costumes are so different so I can have two different Nightcrawlers. I do prefer the colors on the SS piece, vibrancy, but that's about it. I'll have them next to one another.

The paint application on the XM piece looks great but the suit is adapted/ modernised a little too far from the comics for me… if it was the simpler comic style suit this’d be a no brainier personally!
