Like mmk123, I'm happy this character is finally getting some love from these companies.

I had a couple hundred words typed out on why I'm not keen on this design, but most collectors are just going to look at it and either like it or not. Pointing out philosophical aspects to the composition is just going make most people's vein's pop out or eye's glaze over.

Instead I'll just point out a minor, more practical annoyance. There's no need whatsoever for the ruffled feathers over the top curve of the wings. Having a bunch of tiny, pointed protrusions in not only ungainly, it's courting breakage unnecessarily.

After the debacle I experienced with the (conceptually magnificent) IS Hawkman, I'm still in the market for a good representation of this character.
While I'm sure I would enjoy it in-person, I just can't get too excited over a re-purposing of the basic design Tweeterhead kicked out for it's Supergirl.

An aspirational pose like this works great for a character like a Superman or Supergirl. It's a positive, hopeful body attitude for positive, hopeful characters.

Using it with Hawkman, simply because he's another character who flies, is kind of lazy and not what I'd have expected from the company who kicked out a Flash on a cosmic treadmill.

Also, his mace isn't Excalibur. It's more than a little inane for him to be brandishing it like it was a symbolic beacon, when it actually represents something a little darker.

Yeah, he needs to be in more of a menacing pose. He’s sort of like DC’s Wolverine. A 1/4 PF from SS would be cool.

If were going to nit-pick

I agree with the pose, he uses his wings to fly, the only time his wings would be tucked in is if he was trying to pick up speed while going downward. It would probably look better if his wings were spread out more.... Having his Mace out doesn't bother me, just looks like he's going into battle. I'm not too worried about the detail of the feathers as it's just a rendering, I'm sure XM will take the fragile nature of single feathers when they make the mold.

But Yeah definitely need to have his wings spread out, so he doesn't look like Superman taking off... It might also look less like Superman/Supergirl if they lower that left leg so it's not bent so much

With all that said, I wouldn't be disappointed adding him to my collection as is... I still think it looks good...

A pose similar to this could work also, have his right foot attach to the column in XM's rendering...

Totally agree with the above the foot position doesn't look a hundred percent and the Wings would look amazing if they were spread out. Maybe XM is offering a change of wings for this?

I love XM and Hawkman but I'm just not feeling this one. Maybe I'll change when I see it printed...
