Dolemite (1975) - After he is released from jail, a pimp takes on the criminals and corrupt police officers who framed him in the first place.

I watched this after seeing Dolemite Is My Name, the Netflix biopic starring Eddie Murphy as Dolemite actor Rudy Ray Moore. Watching the inspiration for that movie now in this context made me appreciate the goofiness of the original more. 6/10

The Warriors (1979) - A street gang known as The Warriors must fight their way from the Bronx to their home turf on Coney Island when they are falsely accused of assassinating a respected gang leader.

This was my first time seeing this movie after reading for years how revered it is. Fortunately this was the original theatrical version and not the much-altered director's cut that turns it into a comic book. I love that it's a time capsule of the late 70s New York City subway system. It's almost as dangerous today apparently! 8/10

Terrifier 2 (2022)
6.4/10

I have not watched the 1st movie. Apparently it is not necessary to have watched Terrifier in order to make sense of Terrifier 2
While I am aware of Art the Clown, I knew nothing about him prior to watching Terrifier 2

Terrifier 2 turned out to be better than I expected it to be. The level of acting took me back to 80's level of horror.
For the most part, the movie is silly. To add to the silly, there are moments of extreme violence and gore.
Not a movie to watch while eating food.

The one scene that stuck out, that i liked (for some reason?) was the launderette scene.

IMO the original Terrifier is better than the sequel.

The original is creepier and more serious. The sequel goes over the top where it leans more campy. It's odd people would tell you you don't have to see the first one, as the sequel literally starts at the end of the first one.

The original is hyper expensive on DVD ?
I made an effort to pick up the Blu-ray pre_order featuring both movies, only for Amazon to cancel the pre_order due to a lack of stock ?
The good news is, a friend will put the original on memory stick

FYI the original also has one of the nastiest, creepiest kills I've ever seen in a movie. I won't spoil anything, but if you watch it, it's the blonde woman.
