tablets

who has em and what are your thoughts. i have used the ipad but that is it. i really like the xoom and at $599 with a contract it is a good price. thinking of getting one for my kids so they stop using mine and my wifes laptops. computers are a big part of school work now so they need to get something even in elementary school. plus they play a lot of different games on em and my phone has a few dozen apps just for them.

I have an iPad and use it daily. I will say, IMO its basically an iPod Touch on steroids. I do love the high def screen and movies look awesome on it. The Marvel Comics app makes comic books come to life. Sucks that it doesn't support Flash.

I am interested in the Motorola Xoom. I played with one at Verizon and its awesome. I have the Motorola Droid phone and I'm loving the whole android OS. Video play and the graphics are pretty cool as well.

If your getting something for your kids for school, I wouldn't suggest a tablet. I'd go with a netbook. They're much cheaper these days and they do all the basic functions for school and still good enough for internet and some games.

Doesn't heat up at all and I've run it for hours straight watching Iron Man 2 from LA to the Bay.
