That seems odd and not something that Court would normally condone.

Is it a case that he thinks he still has the piece in stock? I know years ago I asked for a Black Canary he had listed for sale, he thought he had it, but checked his inventory and it was previously sold.

To make up for this, he did ask the artist to create me a Black Canary for the same price in a similar, but not exact replica. I have lots of stuff from his site and have never had a problem.

Hope you get this all straightened out!

That would irk me too. Hopefully, the dealer/owner will clear this up for you.
However, while recreating one's artwork isn't cool, alas, it isn't illegal either.

I've got a few pieces from Court's comiconart and have been very pleased. This is surprising.

all i got in response to my ebay message to them was:

"Looks like Ed Nardo recreated the piece you bought months ago (this new one is only 11 x 17, while yours is 17 x 22). Both of them are original (100% drawn by hand)."

the response to me doesn't make it right..

I agree this is pretty strange and not what one would expect from Court. I've picked up a scattering of art from him in the past as he does have some talented artists and the price points are usually fair to really good. I agree that maybe it was a prelim. I wouldn't expect his artists to start selling recreations of their own work.
