The Nolan Batman movies are entirely what DC movies should be. Gritty dramas with great action.

Disagree, there's a lot of characters that do fit that tone and type, but there's a ton of other characters that really don't.
Trying to make everything grim and gritty is how they got into the mess they're in.

Honestly I think DC should just make a Batman universe. Give us more character studies like Joker but with other villains, and then a Batman film that ties them all together.
