Reputable Dealers

I'm trying to complete my Kotobukiya female horror line but am having problems filtering out all the fakes.

I need both Chucky's and Jason -- anyone know any reputable stores that sell these figures?

The main ones to stay away from are anyone selling form China or Hong Kong...

Any seller that doesn't have the original box. Some sell it in a box that looks like the original but it doesn't say Koto anywhere on it. Also if the price is like 1/4 of the retail price it's probably a fake.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I trawl eBay more than I should, and this post outlines my observations about how to spot counterfeits before buying:

KotoUS is their main site. Just saw they have 15% off this weekend. Also Lunar Toy Store is a Koto Partner. I've bought from them and are good and based out of New York.

Usually if the price looks like a stupidly good bargain, it is very likely a fake!

Avoid cheap sales on eBay from China, or places like alli-express as they are known for doing knock offs.

I've written a post on a bishoujo blog which I'll mail to you to help spot bootlegs and how to ensure you are buying a genuine product.

Reputable dealers we've had recommended are;

Japan:
AmiAmi
Solaris Japan
Nippon Yasan
HobbyLink Japan

US:
Koto US
BBTS
Sideshow Collectibles
Frank and Sons (if you are near them)
Entertainment Earth
Amazon.com (directly sold by Amazon and not a Seller)

There is a whole list dependent on where you are based. If you are in the UK there is a retailer whom I recommend that has Jason in stock at the moment but won't ship overseas.
