Thanks very much guys, I appreciate it.
Yeah, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.
I stuck to all the concepts and techniques I've developed over the last year, I just executed them better this time. Two tricks I tried really worked out: instead of doing all the flesh shading by hand with pastels, this time I used burnt sienna straight out of the airbrush and just turned the heads upside down and hit it at a steep angle. Instant perfectly placed shadows. Next thing was to finish the head sculpt with a gloss coat. It doesn't show up as glossy on the skin but does give it a nice translucent texture. And it gives the hair a nice sheen but still not glossy. It adds a touch of realism that kind of surprised me to be honest. No time for celebrating though, on the next one.

Come on and celebrate. Pop open your favorite beverage, sit back and just bask in the glow of your work. I know I would....it's incredible.

Believe me, last night for about two hours I did some well deserved star-gazing. Maybe even thumped my chest a time or two.

Then you take a deep breath, shake it off and gear up for the next challenge.

BTW I have some cool projects coming up:
22" The Flash
1/4 scale Dell'Otto Spider-Man
1/9 scale 18" 2.0 version of the Batman Sanity statue

Me too....you can see Bane better and it's a Wayne Enterprises take on the base instead of the batcave.
The Flash arrives day after tomorrow. Curious to see how it turns out.

Finished the skin tones on head #1, details tomorrow.

I just got these pics from the printer, he says it will ship out next week. His caliper is set to 12" I believe, so it looks like it will stand roughly 18" tall once Man-Bat gets up there, and I'd say the size of the characters are about 8" tall for 1/9 scale.

I gotta say it looks pretty darn awesome.

All that's left for head #1 is hair detailing, final light gloss seal and the eye decals.
