Hot Toys Robocop repaint advice

Have any of you fellow collectors/painters repainted a Hot Toys Robocop similar to Robocop 1 movie colors? I've seen Darkspideycustoms videos many times for inspiration but I'm still indecisive on what paints to use along with paint app techniques so im definitely not confident with painting my Robocop figure yet. I've experimented with Alclad hot metal blue, hot metal violet, candy electric blue and candy violet on plastic spoons, which I've prepped with silver paint, for a while but it's difficult to get it to my liking. I want to say it's the paints but it's probably because I suck and I've been airbrushing for a few years. I was hoping there was some kind of color shifting clearcoat out in the wild but I haven't found anything like that at least in the colors I need. Nonetheless, any tips, advise, suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Have you tried therpf.com (The Replica Prop Forum)? There are some highly skilled prop makers and may have already addressed replicating Robocop colors.
