The DCEU isn't even 10 years old. It's embarrassing that they're rebooting it with fresh actors. Can't say I'm interested in seeing anyone under 30 play the trinity. Plenty of kids out there won't mind though. It seems we're never going to see Superman go up against anyone other than Luthor or Zod.

It is so early to say what DC will be like in the years to come. It could be a rousing success equally MCU.

Right now I think there's a tremendous amount of pressure on Gunn to get this right.

Imagine a new Superman and Wonder Woman (with new actors) come out in 2026 and 2027 and they flop, or just do middling like Black Adam. Does WB trust it enough to weather it or could we see another mess and shift in leadership?

We're years away from any DC films releasing with whatever new plan they have, and all the back-and-forth "who's in, who's out" is already exhausting. Wake me up when they actually announce something that will stick.

Also, I'm bummed about Cavill not getting another go at Superman, but maybe now he can push for Bond or maybe Hyperion or Captain Britain for Marvel.

Henry Cavill was almost Bond but was considered too young when he and Daniel Craig were the final contenders for Casino Royale.

James Gunn wants to make a young Superman movie, but he did that already with Brightburn.

would have been cool if cavill could have kept his solo superman franchise separate from the DCU just like pattinsons batman is but i get it - how do you keep cavill but not gadot? then affleck... then momoa (whos supposedly going to be lobo now). it really does suck though, never got a sequel to one of the best superhero movies made imo

Wait, young as in teenager?

If so I'd prefer he's done a Clark and Jon story with that father/son super dynamic.

My guess was 20s Clark, but guess we'll see in 3-4 years.

I do wonder how much of a schism this will cause and how well he can possibly please the disparate fanbase now.

They should just make Batfamily movies based on my head canon. The direct-to-video animated movies (based on New 52 continuity) are my favorite interpretations of the Batfamily, even if Batgirl doesn't get as much screen time as I would like.

The Death of Superman movie was pretty good, too.

Then they rebooted the timeline again.
