....I have a .....friend...... whose home computer is full of adware and viruses he got from frequently browsing...photography sites.....yeah.
What's the best way to clear all that out...and maybe delete the history?

Clear the history and download and run this file:

My laptop crashed says its the hard drive. Is there a way to recover the data on that hard drive?

Actually yes.. There is an adapter kit that you can buy that will convert it to an external USB drive. As long as the disk is not damaged and able to spin & read you should be able to recover the data.
