It takes a year+ for 2 statues (queen and red death.) They have 11 planned, do the math.

I would REALLY like to pull the trigger and get this line, but I just don't understand the price considering there is no licensing fees SS has to pay out. I'm pretty sure there was a reason given, but i must have missed it.

Pieces shown at SDCC will be released in 2014, 2015, and part of 2016. What many folks are unaware of is that a HUGE chunk of Court of the Dead pieces shown at SDCC where completed right before the show. This means that they were/are not anywhere close to being able to be solicited right away. Currently it's estimated that each qtr for the rest of 2014, 2015, and part of 2016 will have a Court of the Dead piece available for Pre-Order. That could of course change but for now that is the plan.

What makes you think there won't be new items shown? There more than likely will be newer items shown at future Comic-Cons along with previous shown items.

All the Court of the Dead pieces have been very ambitious pieces. From the costumes, sculpt, paint, etc. each and every piece is quite intricate and as such quite a bit more expensive to make. :-)

I find it funny that people question the price of highly detailed statues like these but don't even bat an eyelash when a certain company charges double SS's prices for standard PFs

I feel that the CotD line is 100% worth the asking price thus far
