Weta: Aragorn - Hunter Of The Plains (1/6 Statue)
Looks really good. The actor's likeness is off but for me that's not a big deal.

This does look nice. I still think Sideshow's OG 1/5 version is still the definitive Aragorn to own.

Another company will be making a 1/6 Aragorn I think. Which one I get depends on which one is first to release.

I’m trying to imagine the meeting before building the statue. Should be something like that:
- Alright people everyone is complaining about P1 Aragorn statue specially the face, Sideshow Aragorn face was really never good enough, so now we have the chance to build something nice that will finally looks like viggo and not like a big piece of s****
-...
- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!
- Of course not our style.
- And don’t forget to rise up prices!

A 1/6 articulated figure maybe, no-one else has a 1/6 statue licence.

I think you're underestimating how long a statue is in production for... certainly longer than a week which is when people saw the Prime Aragorn
I think this is good, it's done by the same sculptor who made Aragorn at Amon Hen. And statues always look even better in person.

Was pretty excited when they first teased this. But I can't say I'm loving this pose, and the face isn't even close.
And you definitely can't count on WETA to overdeliver on the production piece. Their Galadriel proto was very nice - the production, not bad but nowhere near that level of realism. Mine was like she'd gone on a crash diet on the voyage over here, and the paint wasn't on a par either.
But since this will likely be the last Aragorn in 6th scale for years, no real alternatives are there?
Disappointing.

So without any other alternative as you mentioned the decision is there. Buy or wait some more years...

I think that the proto looks good, but with a price tag like that I'd expect the final product to look as good or even better in person. Any downgrades and I'd be utterly disappointed. I loved Gandalf but after Galadriel I'll have to see the in-hand photos before any purchases.

Articulated figures, not statues.
