Hello,
I'm a newbie, well, pretty much. I had a lump of old victory brown from way back and decided to try something different. Still a little rough. She'll be clothed somewhere down the line. Now that I've gotten to this point, I'm wondering just how I'm going to cast this sculpture. It's 10" tall. I know I have to cast the arms separately, but the sword is so thin, I don't know how to cast it. I don't have any kind of vaccuum or pressure pot, so I don't know how to get the resin into the fine details. I'm planning on using Mold Star 15. I was wondering if I got the mold to vibrating as I poured the Mold Star if that might help to get the rubber in the fine details. Or if I should try to 'paint' the rubber onto the tiny details first, then pour the rest into the mold.
Oh, in case you're wondering, I was trying for a more realistic figure rather than an idealistic one. So, for instance, the figure is only 7 heads tall as is the average woman (or so I've read). But I think, done right, an 'average' woman can be attractive as well. Hope you all like it.
