I unroll with ink down on a table, I get about 8 inches unrolled and set heavy books on the ends, unroll the rest and put books at the other end. Takes about 2 weeks to flatten. The more weight the quicker the process.

here is my poster table. I put them between 2 foam boards - acid free.

Then I put them into my poster book until im ready to have something framed.

4 push pins should do the trick.

Guilty. Since the poster is thick you might need 6 push pins to keep it nice and flat on the wall.;)

Roll it the opposite direction and then throw it back into the tube for a day or so. It should come out relatively flat.

what if you flattened them face down....then put bricks on all four corners to hold it down....then spray the back of the poster with oven cleaner and then used a blow dryer???????

Better yet, lay it face down, spray just a little bit of starch on the back and then iron it flat :thumbs2:

I don't know where you're getting your "Proper Poster Etiquette" facts from, Rob, but everyone knows you pin down the corners with four bikini'd Ivy League nubile college coeds, and the Cocoa butter you massaged into their skin prior to their help acts as a "glaze" on the poster; first expanding onto it, then bonding with it via their touch and body heat.

If one of the ladies volunteers her top, that should be the right mix of "soft cloth" and "abrasive material" to wipe off any excess butter from the piece; if all four of them offer their tops, well.. the poster's ready for hanging before you know it!

Where did you get this poster book? How well does it protect the posters from moving around and corner damage?

Awesome Gremlins poster! Must be going for big bucks now :banghead:
To unroll my prints/art I put them into a hard plastic sleeve for a day or so then slip them into my portfolio.

The starch comment was nonsense, however i used an iron on low and it seemed to flatten my paper products.

You don't want to do this with these prints. The ink can smudge onto other parts of the print. I've seen this happen to one of the Stout Star Wars prints.

Best way is to place the poster between 2 acid-free foamboards and to weigh the top board down with hefty items, as has already been mentioned.

The ink will smudge on these prints? That's not good.

I believe the ones that are susceptible to smudging are the ones that use metallic paint. Don't quote me on that, I just know I have seen it happen first hand.

These screen prints/serigraphs use a different process for printing. Unlike normal posters and prints, with screen prints you can feel the inks. So, I'm sure damage can happen if not handled properly.

Frobay - so I understand this correctly - if I mail my papaer products to you, you will flatten and return in a nice binder. All free of charge? :D
