But the ES is the total right? Of all the retailers? Not just sideshow? So they can't say sold out can they? For the regular I mean. Or do all the other retailers the deal thru Sideshow and not directly with Jerry?

EDIT: Actually thinking about it, Sideshow could have (say) 100 and they could put "sold out" after they sell the 100. The ES is still technically 350 regardless. It's not their problem if you can get it somewhere else.....

Oh for sure, it took Sagat EX like what, a month or more too sell out and the ES was only 350 but said TBD? ES up front creates a major rush for these things. See all the anti hype for the Diablo statue as it's an open ES? We do not want that! Great job Jerry love it, keep it up man!

Although Killer Instinct and Virtua Fighter are my favorite all time fighters, MK is far and away my favorite when it comes to characters. They just have the dopest and most well designed characters to me. I LOVE MK!!!:D

I just want to say none of my posts are criticism of Sideshow.

I fully understand and respect why they do what they do. They are a big company with gigantic overhead and if they can sell 500-1000-2000 then i absolutely understand why they do it.

I am a small fish just making my way and I have very little overhead compared to them. i can afford to make smaller runs and still make what i consider an acceptable profit.

Truth is I cant even imagine what its like to run something as big as Sideshow. Even my last company, SOTA, which made millions per year, was nothing compared to Sideshow.

As I gradually transition to PCSC Direct Sales I will forever be appreciative of all the help and support Sideshow has given over the years.

They really are the good guys, and while none of us are above criticism, I hope the collectors can always remember that without Sideshow, PCSC would have never existed.

Jerry, with your business model 80%, or more, of my hobby dollars are headed in your direction. I do not have the luxury of throwing money at statues that will not retain their retail value. The extraordinarily high ES or open ES that Sideshow is leaning toward is not something I can easily justify throwing my hard-earned pennies into. While the Avengers Hulk is a must-have, and some of the DC pieces are calling me, your PCS SF and MK lines remain at the very top of my list of collectables!

Somehow I don't think you will see edition sizes of 700. That is entirely too many for a non Marvel / DC / Star Wars license.

Chalk it up to a learning experience.

I can surmise that the Klassic Scorpion would be in the same boat if there was an ed. of 200 for the ex. and 700 for the regular. They will be sitting in the warehouse just like the MK9 Scorp.

If you could re-work the skull head look more like this (just the nose-eye-brow portion. The mask is ridiculous). The nasal cavity looks more like a real skull's where as honestly, the current sculpt is missing that menacing stare.

Agreed but the arms were already made for Reptile so I can see why Jerry would include them with the EX. Even though it's not accurate to the game, it does give us an extra display option. ;)

seriously though.... it was $10 extra dollars and we all bought the Exclusive for the SECOND SWITCH OUT HEAD.... it's like some of you are pissed about an EXTRA PAIR OF ARMS that Jerry threw in there for practically nothing. Even if we just got a switch out head it still would have been $10 more.

Sh** you never know mixing and matching the arms might look cool and give a unique look yo uactually like, like having the right arm Reptile's and the left arm Scorpions or vice versa.

I don't remember much about UMK3 since it has been so long but I can almost guarantee somewhere in the game Scorpion has those arms, just look at all the ninjas they are just pallet swaps and even Sub Zero does the exact same pose on the VS screen as Reptile with the arms.

Scorpion never uses the Reptile arms in UMK3. Sub Zero does on the VS screen but Scorpion does not. Not in game, not in the VS screen, not in the menu, not in the winning screen at the end. No where.

I am not complaining at all, just stating the facts on my favorite character. ;)

It's not the fact that ppl are stating their opinion which is perfectly fine, I've done my fair share of expressing my feelings towards certain companies/sculpts also

That version is awful, looks nothing like the skull mask from UMK3. The current skull version is great and is from UMK3!

I completely agree (I did say "the mask is awful"), but I was referring to the sinister expression and the skeletal structure surrounding the nasal cavity. That's the kind of menacing presence of Scorpion I would like to see (not that god-awful mask). I'm sure Jerry can make it look meaner. I don't want Reptile to laugh at him when they're matched up.

true, there are a few, but speaking from experience, they are the best. There are four or five companies on there that do a lot of preorders, a couple are sketchy, and a couple I'll never use again. Secret Compass is the only way to go.

reseller offer 15% discount against sideshow retail price, which means sideshow must offer them at least a 30% haircut otherwise it wont be worthwhile.

So if sideshow offers around 30% discount to resellers, they must make their own money, which means they probably only give jerry 50% of the retail price for the statue.

Just guessing obviously, but that kind sucks for jerry.

I think thats just a normal skull with no mask, and the darker orange color is just the fire reflection from the ground as you can see on the background too, it was probably never intended to be a mask, you can see he still has the white skull color under the nose and cheek bones, why would scorpion use a mask to look exactly like whats covering underneath?

Ok, I get it now. Before you posted this pic, I totally did not understand the EX head at all. It confused me, but after seeing this, I totally get it. I had completely forgotten his mask did look like this in UMK3.

They are close. I could see Scorp Ex being worth more eventually even with the extra 50 pieces. Reptile was definitely tougher to get, but there are some people that only want a Scorp and Sub to display and they'll be done.

Ever since I saw the mysterious Reptile in MK2, and heard the sound of the force ball, hes been my fave of the ninjas, followed by subzero then scorpion. Plus my fave color is green :p I do think that since the only way to get reptile is through the PCS exclusive that he will be worth more then scorp in the long run

can you say what exactly is coming with Reptile, first it was a tongue attatchment, then another head, then an acid spit. which is the added piece going to be?
