Kelley Jones Batman B/W Wax

Hi guys..here are some unpainted pictures of the piece. Kelley provided me with awesome turn around art to go off of. Made sculpting it so much easier. I was excited to be able to sculpt a Batman piece and even more excited for the job when I saw Kelleys art. It is sculpted in TMS wax and like the others is about 7 inches tall.I would post the control art but I don't know how to shrink them....they are big pictures and I know how annoying it can be to scroll accross images. These wax pictures were taken of the piece at 99% done. I ended up sanding more on the cape as well as changed the rear points on the cape a little so that they did not curl so much down the back of the base.

Outstanding Ray! I used to be a big Kelly Jones fan back in the day and you caught his art 100%! Did you supply it as one piece to DC or does the head, arms and cape come off for molding? Did you mold it yourself?

Diod you sculpt a clay rough and make a waste mold or is this done entirly in wax from start to finish?

I know can say you have done the definitve batman from one of my favorite batman artists and the best logan and wolverine on the market.

Ray, this is a beautiful piece. Nice to see the shots with the arm missing, so as to see the front.

As a goof on Kelley's style, the waist should be twice as long, with double the number of abs. :laugh:

Ray just proves that time and time again with every new sculpt that his talents grow. He's already one of the very best in the biz and yet he's getting even better. That is scary nboys and girls... imagine the sculpts he'll be pumping out in a year... amazing...
