Gandalf? To be completely honest, it's ok. I love almost everything about it except the likeness..the head size just looks bigger because of the sculpted hair and beard..over all it's ok. :thumbs2: Out of all the LOTR PF's this is my second fave. 1st is Lurtz. When Aragorn comes out, it'll be my 2nd fave for sure. =)

I was also going to purchase the Visor but decided against it after all the negativity I had heard.
It's a pity because as you said, it had the potential of being a great collectible.

Yep the Visor tanked. But I guess I shouldn't complain because of the price..I mean you get what you pay for.:redface:

Sideshow will need to produce something special to make a figure that leaves Lurtz in it's shadow. He's one of the best premium format figures they've produced.

I was going to add Gandalf myself, but am really deterred by his head. A real shame, as Gandalf is my favourite character from LOTR.
Hopefully Cinemaquette will do him justice.

Yep, Master Replicas did a very nice job with both.

Funny you mentioned that. I was just talking to our bank representative. I told them that I need my collection insured. They haven't insured anything like my collection before. The manager wants to see it in person first.

LOL! Yeah I made sure of that. It's about 10-12 feet long I think. It's solid wood and the supports are metal. I had 6 brackets installed per level and all are screwed into the wood. I am confident they'll hold.:) I supervised the carpenters the whole time they were building it.

This rare statue has tormented me since I started collecting and has eluded me for 5-6 years.

Darth Maul is the reason why I got into Star Wars. You see, I wasn't a fan of Star Wars then. I didn't even watch the classic trilogy until I watched Episode 1. I was intrigued and got the classic SW in VHS. hehehe This statue is my inspiration, the one that turned me..and made me join the dark side. LOL

Maul is obviously my favorite Sith Lord. I remember back then when Lucas Films was promoting the movie they displayed life size props/statues in KFC restaurants and in some cinemas all over the world. They had life size statues of Jar Jar Binks, Yoda, Watto and Maul.

The KFC branch here in Katipunan, which is near where I live in Manila Philippines, had a Maul up for raffle. I wasn't a collector then but I was just mesmerized by the statue that I'd eat there almost everyday just to stare at it. I got hooked into SW ever since and when I finally started collecting high end collectibles, I promised my self that I would get one no matter what. =) hehehe sorry if I'm too dramatic about this hahaha.

Most of the DM's I've seen have missing or damaged sabers. This baby has a perfect saber. Although I already have a Master Replicas FX Saber to replace it with. But because of the weight of the FX saber I'm gonna have to make sure the hand and shoulder of Maul will be able to hold it up so I'll have it customized and reinforced. FYI the body is made of pipes and sculpted styro so it's pretty light.

Also most of the DM's have damaged bases since it's pretty fragile, this one is perfect. =) The previous owner obviously took good care of it. Lucky for me.

The detail on this thing is so cool. The costuming looks authentic. Exactly like what Ray Park wore in the movie, just as it should be of course. =) I even compared the clothing to a 12 inch Darth Maul figure with clothing and its the same right down to the sculpt of the boots. It's just missing the robe..which I will buy soon.

Thanks Alex! God knows how long I've been searching for this thing. I finally got one with a good price and in good condition. Now all I gotta do is find his Sith Robes and replace the plastic saber he's holding with an FX double bladed saber and it'll be perfect. At first I thought I needed to customize it further and glass eye it..now that I see it in person, I don't have to. The eyes are glossy already and pretty well done.
