Which Avenger(s) would be a great villian?

Which Avenger would make a great master villain and nemesis for the Avengers in todays Marvel Universe? Maybe explain the hows and whys while you're at it.

I know Tet might hate me for this..

But, I think Iron Man could be a great Villain turn.

Iron Man would be an OUTSTANDING villain. Easily DOOM level!

Probably the best one I can think of...nobody else on the team could reach that level as a bad guy.

THOR could do it...but I really don't consider him an option for some odd reason.

I always thought the Vision would be a cool villain. Sort of like a Brainiac-type, technology mastermind type thing.

Oh I forgot - the Vision is laying in a crate somewhere in two pieces. :banghead:

I think IM is the obvious but Hawkeye could suprise people. I could see him running a gambit similar to what Batman did during OMAC. He knows them so well afterall.

Iron man
Black Panther
Ares
Scarlet witch
QuicksilverVision
Hawkeye
Ant-man

Some of these have already been villains in the past.

I'd go with Ironman.

I had thought of Hawkeye....as in the Ultimate Universe, I think he has true "bad ass" potential...but not on a grand scale.

I am re-thinking my THOR opinion a bit after letting it simmer in my head for a bit.

Why?

Because of this particular series of events...it happened in a future where Thor possessed the Odinpower, but had lost touch with his more "human" side, and was no longer truly worthy to carry Mjolnir. (ultra condensed version of the story)

I only show this because it shows the great POTENTIAL that THOR would have as a major villain of sorts, especially with the backing of Asgard.

Hank Pym would be my choice as an Avenger turned great master villain and nemesis for the Avengers.

1. Founding member, thus having a long history and association with the team. Unlike most of the other founders, he doesn't curently hold nor did he really ever have his own series. Hard to keep a monthly on-going title for a villain.

2. Instability in his character leaves the door open for this change.

3. Between his own powers and his mastery of robotics and biochemistry, he certainly has the resources to be a formidable villain. He did already create one of the Avengers foremost villains, Ultron.

4. "Goliath" is a better villain name than for a hero anyways.
