A friend of mine once told me that MacFarlane sculpted prototypes large like 1:4 scale, made a mold and then cast them in some sort of material that would shrink depending on your ratio of water to dry mix.
I’m looking to try it out with a set of male and female skulls I’ve sculpted. I’d like to have them in 1:4 scale all the way down to 1:18 scale. Seems like it would just be that much quicker to start with an anatomically correct skull and then add clay/wax.
Can someone help me out? What is the name of this stuff and where can I get it? Thanks all.
