I think they basically upconvert to 1080i (the top being 1080p). As far as i know they upconvert all regular DVDs. A resolution of 768i is fine on any screens up to 32" - 40".

I think I'm finally ready to bite the bullet as well. However, where did you find the price of $250 for the actual player? I went through the checkout process to see what the total is (using the deal in the link above) and the player still comes out to $299....?
I only wish there was more selection for the 5 free rebate DVD's. Currently there aren't any in that group that I care to own on HD so that incentive is kinda wasted on me. But it's still one helluva deal. I suppose I could always flip 'em on Ebay for others that I want.

Hmmmm, I just received $200 in Amazon coupons through my Credit Card. Maybe I should pic this up since my actual cash outlay will be minimal...

Yes they will look better. Make sure you run the A2 through an HDMI cable.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

the xbox itself is a really good dvd player. but it only upscales if you have the VGA connector, not just components

I'm considering upgrading from my XBOX HD DVD drive to the A2 but the only problem is in order to get this deal you need to buy the Matrix Trilogy and I already have that.
